Blaser's Stock Receiver R8 Kilombero delivers high performance in an elegant and aesthetically pleasing package. One of the Kilombero's most notable qualities is the Grade 7 walnut stock and fore-grip. The wood is sourced from walnut trees in the Caucasus Mountains of Eastern Europe, where the trees are subjected to extreme climatic conditions for hundreds of years. This causes tremendously slow growth, which gives the wood superior density and a distinct, naturally burled grain pattern. After being precisely cut into shape, the wood stock is treated with a complex oil finishing and given an ebony fore-end tip. In addition, the R8 Kilombero features Blaser's Kickstop, a stainless steel cylinder filled with tungsten beads that can reduce recoil up to 20% in addition to enhancing the rifle's overall balance.
