Its considerable length and depth makes it perfect for longer, bulkier items such as rifles/shotguns, musical instruments, photography equipment, or surveying equipment. Like all the premium cases in Pelican�s Air series, the 1745 Air Long Case is up to 40% lighter than cases of a similar class thanks to a construction of a Proprietary Polypropylene Blend. In addition to cutting down on unnecessary weight, the Polypropylene construction makes the 1745 Air Long Case incredibly resistant to crushing, shock and impact. The 1745 Air Long Case�s resistance to physical force is perfectly complimented by its ability to withstand water, dust, and weather. A EPDM O-Ring seal keep the moisture from seeping in, and a Hi-Flow Gore-Tex 3 Micron Hydrophobic Non-Woven automatic purge valve enhances the water resistance even further by equalizing the air pressure inside the case. In terms of security, the 1745 Air Long Case is outfitted with Pelican�s signature Press and Pull latches that automatically lock when pressed down, as well as multiple pad lock protectors that have been reinforced with stainless steel. In addition, the 1745 Air Long Case is easy to transport thanks to an ergonomic carry handle on the top with a comfortable rubber overmold, and a folding handle and smooth rolling wheels allows the case to be pulled with ease.
