Building upon the success of the Solo pack, the Col 4800 is a feature rich backpack designed for versatility and ever changing conditions. The main compartment offers a full 4800 cubic inches of storage space, accessible by a horseshoe shaped zipper that extends the entire length of the left side and a quarter of the length on the right. This design allows for a front zippered pocket perfect for storing small to medium sized necessities. Directly above the main bag is a horizontal zippered pocket for additional storage space of small items. The right side features a tripod attachment system with an open pocket for securing the tripod's legs, and the left side features a zippered stuff pocket. The left side also features an dedicated spotting scope pocket on the inside for quick and easy access. Carrying capacity can be further expanded with the use of tri-slide attachment points for SG Pack Accessory storage (sold separately), as well as a load shelf to increase capacity by +2500 cubic inches. The overall design of the Col 4800 allows the user to achieve even weight distribution when carrying a rifle or bow in addition to a tripod and spotter.
Additionally, the Col4800 is available with either a Krux frame or an Xcurve frame, with small, medium, and large belt options available for each. The Krux frame option was designed to be as lightweight as possible, whereas the Xcurve was designed with an emphasis on comfort and stability under the heaviest of loads. Just like all of Stone Glacier's frames, both the Krux and Xcurve feature an integrated Load-Shelf allowing the user to expand the bag off the frame to pack gear or meat in between the bag and the frame. This eliminates the need to put meat inside the bag and keeps the heaviest of loads more stable and closer to your back for increased comfort. Additionally, all past and current Stone Glacier bags and frames are interchangeable, allowing you to swap bags on and off your frame for different applications without needing to purchase and entirely new bag/frame system.
