The Diamondback HD 2000 is a workhorse of a laser range finder, and comes standard with a wide array of Vortex exclusive features. With a 2000 yard max range, the Diamondback HD 2000 is a perfect addition to a long range hunting kit, especially one intended for large game. It utilizes Vortex’s HD optical System, which utilizes select glass elements for excellent resolution, edge-to-edge sharpness, and high light-transmission while simultaneously reducing chromatic aberrations. The Diamondback HD 2000 offers three ranging modes: Line of Sight, Horizontal Component Distance, and Scan Mode. Line of sight displays the actual distance to the target while horizontal component distance displays the angle compensated distance. Scan mode on the other hand provides a continuous distance readings while panning across a landscape. Other features of the Diamondback HD 2000 includes two target modes. Normal mode provides the target’s range with the strongest range result, suitable for most situations. Last mode provides the farthest distance when ranging, perfect for acquiring the range on targets behind obstructions like bushes, trees, and rocks.
