Description
Stone Glacier's Talus 6900 is a purpose-built hunting backpack that offers increased access and organization while remaining as lightweight as possible. The main bag of the Talus 6900 is 6400 cubic inches with an additional 500 cubic inches of storage space in the lid, bringing the total interior carrying capacity to 6900 cubic inches. Internal carrying capacity can be further increased by 2500+ cubic inches with the use of a load shelf, bringing the overall internal volume to an impressive 8000+ cubic inches. Alternatively, the Talus 6900 can be converted into the lighter, more compact "bivy-mode" with 4000 cubic inches of carrying capacity for shorter day trips. The main center zipper provides access to the entire contents of the main bag and use heavy duty YKK #10 zippers that can stand up to a lifetime of hard use. The Talus 6900 also features 4 external side pockets. Two of the side pockets are zippered and run almost the entire length of the backpack, directly beneath them are two open pockets. This configuration allows longer pieces of gear such as rifles, tripods, and spotting scopes to be secured in the longer zippered pockets and the bottom pockets to serve as a catch.
The Talus 6900 is available with either a Krux frame or an Xcurve frame, with small, medium, and large belt options available for each. The Krux frame option was designed to be as lightweight as possible, whereas the Xcurve was designed with an emphasis on comfort and stability under the heaviest of loads. Just like all of Stone Glacier's frames, both the Krux and Xcurve feature an integrated Load-Shelf allowing the user to expand the bag off the frame to pack gear or meat in between the bag and the frame. This eliminates the need to put meat inside the bag and keeps the heaviest of loads more stable and closer to your back for increased comfort. Additionally, all past and current Stone Glacier bags and frames are interchangeable, allowing you to swap bags on and off your frame for different applications without needing to purchase and entirely new bag/frame system.
