Description
Cooper Firearms of Montana combines elegance and utility with the M57M Varmint Extreme. This bolt-action rimfire’s stock is composed of the finest AAA+ Claro walnut, featuring beautiful wood grain patterns and an attractive glossy finish. The grip area is outfitted with deeply-cut checkering for a comfortable hold on the rifle, and decorative embellishments further enhance its immaculate appearance. Another prominent feature of the stock is the forend, which has a widened, rounded profile for comfort and ergonomics, but features a flat center on the bottom to serve as a stable rest in the field.
Like all of Cooper’s refined rifles, the M57M Varmint Extreme offers superb accuracy and reliability. Bolt manipulation is silky smooth, even when cycling the bolt in a hurried situation. The bolt face is equipped with dual extractors, followed by a mechanical ejector contained within the receiver which result in outstanding reliability. The 26” barrel features a straight taper, and is threaded to accept muzzle devices such as a suppressor. The M57M Varmint Extreme also ships with two triggers: a standard Cooper trigger, as well as a Jard Trigger that’s been set to 10 ounces – both of which offer a crisp, smooth pull. In addition, all metal parts from the barrel to the receiver are exceptionally well machined, with a sleek black polish on the receiver and bolt, and a sliver/grey finish on the barrel.
