EOTech’s On Gun Laser (OGL) delivers full aiming and illumination capabilities in either daylight, low light, or no light conditions. Ideal for use with night vision devices, the OGL offers passive aiming capabilities while allowing the user to maintain situational awareness. It features a 520 nanometer green laser with 25 milliwatts on high power and a 840 nanometer IR laser with 30 milliwatts on high power. The green laser was specifically chosen as green lasers are 6 time more visible than red lasers. These lasers are co-aligned on top of each other, and use the same windage and elevation adjustment dials to simplify the zeroing process. Opposite of the lasers is an IR illuminator for use with night vision devices. The illuminator’s beam divergence can be regulated between a close-range flood and a long-range dot thanks to a patented sliding adjustment lever. The green laser and the IR illuminator feature protective covers that can also serve as diffusion and pattern generators.
The OGL’s controls are composed of a rear-facing selector switch and a top-mounted laser activation button. The button is slightly raised and provides a tactile response for intuitive operation even in complete darkness. For momentary activation, the user can press and hold down the laser button, and a quick double tap of the button will provide constant activation. The streamlined selector switch allows the user to choose between the lasers, illumination, and laser/illumination combination. A pair of blue safety screws are included to block the high output modes when not in use, and can be removed and stored in the body of the OGL. The OGL also features a remote jack that accepts industry standard remotes such as pigtail remotes or hot buttons. Additionally, the OGL measures in at a mere 4.1” x 2.3” x 1.5” – roughly the same dimensions as a deck of cards – and features strategic cuts and channels to reduce unnecessary weight.
