Description
The CZ 457 Scout was designed for younger shooters and is an excellent tool for teaching the basics. It features a short 12” length of pull to accommodate smaller-framed users, and a simple leaf rear sight and blade front sight (both of which are adjustable) to make learning the basics of a sight picture easy. Alternatively, the 457 Scout is equipped with an 11mm dovetail for installing a scope. The 457 Scout ships with a single-shot adapter to help teach new shooters about the conservation of ammunition, but will also accept any 457/455 magazine. After a while, a young shooter is going to outgrow the Scout’s short length of pull, but the modular nature of the rifle and identical stock inletting of all 457 rifles allows a larger stock to be easily installed. The 457 Scout’s bolt features a 60-degree throw, this was chosen to increase scope compatibility especially on scopes with a larger ocular bell and lower ring heights. Under the recommendation of US Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches, the 457 Scout is outfitted with an American-style push-to-fire safety – a configuration that American shooters are more accustom to. In addition, the 457 Scout’s action was shortened by nearly an inch to reduce the footprint and weight.
