Description
CZ-USA’s 712 G3 Target is sleek, ergonomic and designed for top-tier competitors. The adjustable comb allows for a perfect cheek weld and a comfortable shooting experience, and a stepped rip provides an unobstructed sight picture. The 30-inch barrel features a matte black finish to protect the metal from corrosion and the elements as well as cutting down on glare. Like all of the other shotguns in the 712 family, the 712 G3 Target utilizes CZ’s proven gas piston operating system for smooth, reliable cycling shot after shot. The 712 G3 Target includes two interchangeable pistons: a light piston and a heavy piston. The light piston is designed for lighter, softer recoiling shells for target shooting, while the heavy piston is optimized for magnum shells for hunting.

Customer Reviews
It is very nice to shoot. It has very nice feel and soft recoil. I was considering an over/under until I tried a rem 1100 gas semiauto. I think the CZ 712 G3 target shoots as nice or better. My Trap scores have improved dramatically in the past month using the CZ. I am shooting light loads (1 ounce 1180FPS) and it cycles properly. The recoil was main reason I got this as I have a shoulder injury. My old gun was a 5.8 pound single shot break open which beat me up even with an inch of foam. I have done weekly a 100 rounds continuous with the CZ on the trap line and feel fine after. Some of the descriptions on many websites don't specify the true features. It almost held me back from purchasing. The features are better than on the website. It does have a mid-bead. The beads are white so they don't distract from the target. The chokes are the extended chokes and come in a nice case for the tubes. The gun/everything comes in a hard sided plastic case with metal hinges and socks for both the barrel and the stock/receiver. The manual is for the G2 and does not include the dual piston info which you may want to print from the CZ website. The weight is not 7.3 pounds, it is 7.9 pounds, nice when shooting many rounds. The length is 51 inches without the choke, but with the choke the length is 52 inches. If you get a soft case, get at least a 54 inch interior. The comb is adjustable up/down/left/right. It comes with the wrench to adjust the comb and a tool to poke the holes that bleed gas to the piston. Having 2 pistons is not a problem, it solves issues with adjustments or failure to cycle. The light piston is good for most anything you will do for targets. The heavy pistons for the big hunting loads. When you put the gun together after cleaning, I think most would know which piston to install. I added a Carlson shell catcher since I have people adjacent on the Trap. The CZ throws the shells slightly forward, but other shooters find it a distraction. The catcher flips down if I'm doing multiple shots (sporting clays).
