NJ Xtreme Distance Shooter
January 9, 2017
I have only used Schmidt Bender PM II scopes on all my serious long distance rifles. I reluctantly decided to have an open mind and try something other than SB scopes for my new rifle project. All I can say is this Nightforce scope is equal if not better than SB because of the higher 35x magnification. This is a game changer in the tactical scope market. Im officially a Nightforce fan.

I purchased my first Nightforce NXS 5x22.5x50 over a decade ago and this is the 6th Nightforce scope I have purchased since then. What a scope! No visual aberrations can be seen in the glass of this scope even at 35 power. This scope allowed me to make two hits in a 36" target at 3520 yards for the 2-mile club. Couldn't believe how it seemed to focus through heat waves. Nightforce has become my go-to favorite scope in the past few years. The NX8 will be my next scope purchase.

Topped off my Surgeon Scalpel in .300 WM with an ATACR 7-35X F1 scope. Both purchased from Eurooptic. I had a chance to run a few rounds through the rifle today and it shoots like a dream. I can't say enough about the great customer service at Eurooptic! Their staff is knowledgeable and truly cares about the satisfaction of their customers. Thanks Eurooptic!

This is exactly the scope I wanted for my AI. It has the lens, the magnification, the reticle, first focal plane, etc. that I was waiting for NightForce to produce. In fact, I purchased it before it was even on the NightForce website. It a great scope...!

Very disappointed . I've been buying the Leupold Mark 5 in 5-25x56-and 7-35x56 and always been very happy with them compared to some of my other scopes in that price range vortex razor , Steiner, Zeiss , the Mark 5 is much better to my eyes in every aspect, low light, eye relief, and the biggie clarity! so I was wanting to step it up a notch for a new long range bench gun and thought the extra weight could be good and after reading a lot of reviews on sniper hide, so many guys talked about how much better the NF Atacr is I ordered the 7-35x56 NF and paced the floor waiting on fed ex , mounted the scope and went to the range, and the first thing I noticed was the eye relief was a bit difficult and it just wasn't as clear as what I was use to. I got on at 25 yards and then went to 200 yard target and no matter how I adjusted the parallax I couldn't read the numbers on the target so I shot a few rounds
(300 prc) and was able to see my bullet holes but not the numbers on the inch lines so I used the reticle (very nice reticle) to measure and made some adjustments and moved to 400 yards, shot and couldn't see where I hit so I went to the house got a rifle with mark 5 , 5-25 and a mark 5, 7-35 and it was know problem to read the target or see the bullet holes at 200 or 400 with either Leupold (which I already new ) needless to say I'm sick but I keep shooting and could see my hits at 800 yards with mark 5 most of the time.
Late that afternoon I do some comparisons in low light looking at deer form the back porch and again its very disappointing and I paid nearly $1500 more for the NF, I guess part of that cost is NF forces you to pay for the eliminated reticle that I don't need but I was willing to pay for that to get what I thought was a better scope but it turned s out that the nothing about the NF was as good to me as the mark 5 , the zero stop is ok and the feel and report of the adjustments on the turret is okay the biggest short coming is the glass and if it were a hunting gun the weight . I realize this supposed to be a review and not a comparison but ill have to say if your looking at the NF you might want to try and do a side by side comparison before you spend the extra money on less .

Exchanged a Vortex Razor HD GEN II 4.5 - 27x56 for a Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 F1 - MOAR. The Nightforce is a far superior scope. Reticle is not cluttered and you have a crosshair as opposed to a micro dot POA on the Vortex, which is very hard to see if you have aging eyes. Lines on the Night force are slightly thicker which aid is in target acquisition. Excellent scope. Mounted it on a SUHR QD Cantilever mount QD-4016. Highly recommend it. The shooting range on the Nightforce is from 10 m to infinity, while the Vortex starts at 32 yards. Big advantage. If you are looking for a precision long range scope, you cannot go wrong with this one for the price. Good glass costs.

I have ordered from Eurooptics before, they have been very helpful answering questions, and all that I have ordered have arrived with in a day or two. The new scope is replacing another because of the longer distance it offers, will order from them in the future.

What a great scope. It is right up there or exceeds SB in glass and performance and the 35 power is really an advantage. The illuminated reticle is great to use. Will also be my next scope.
