It's sure not what US Optics once was (the TS series story) but it's a descent piece of glass for the money. It functions well but the reticle could stand to be a bit bigger throughout the entire focal range, You nearly have to have the reticle lighted (brightly) and use it like a red dot at low power settings.

It's not the scope that made USO famous, but if you don't have a few thousand dollars in your budget, this is a solidly built, functional and repeatable scope. It's heavy, but that's a good thing for me. This scope gets a lot of grief for not having $3000 glass. It does not have $3000 glass, it has $600 glass, and it does everything I need it to do.

I’ve been using US Optics for my rifles for years. I needed a good scope but didn’t want to break the bank. I ordered this 1-8x & expected “you get what you pay for.”. I’ve mounted it on my 16” Geissele & had it mounted & borescoped. I expected to be making adjustments to zero it, but was shocked that with zero adjustments I was hitting dead center with .75” groups w/ 77grn & opened up to 1.25” w/ 55grn. The glass is clear, the RBR reticle is bright & easy to see in AZ daylight. The magnification changes from 1-8 were tight, but after adding the throw lever are easier, I wouldn’t want a sloppy twist anyways. Pound for Pound the $$$ to Value ratio is very very good. I could’ve bought a strike Eagle or comparable, but for the same price I’m SO much happier with this scope!! Best Value for the money for 1-8X scopes out there!! Buy one while you can!!

I have the RBR reticle. And it is very fine and difficult to see at 1x without illumination. However, the illumination in full brightness is daylight bright and you can point it at a white wall in direct sunlight and it will still be red. When you zoom in to 8x the reticle has night vision settings or can be seen very clearly in the daylight without illumination and the markings are very useful as a BDC. It’s in MILs and the turrets are in MOA, but you just zero at 100 yards and then you never dial in again. Put the caps on and use the reticle for ranging. It’s fairly light for a FFP 1-8x at 17.7oz and when you put it in a Warne SKELX mount it weighs in at 21.5oz on my scale. Great optic with very clear glass. Yes it’s made in China but it’s U.S. Optics quality assurance tested in the U.S. of A.

This US Optics 1-8x FFP scope went on a new Black Dog Armory rifle using a Warne one piece mount. The scope/rifle combo shot sub MOA with a .85 group. This was shot with 68gr Hornady HPBT Match hNd loads.
The scope illumination was bright enough in full sun without being turned all the way up. It held zero thru the magnification range.
