Description

The Aimpoint Micro S-1 was designed specifically for use of shotguns. The innovative carbon fiber reinforced mounting system positions the optic on the lowest possible optical axis - without adding unnecessary weight. The Micro S-1 sight attaches directly to the shotgun at any point along the ventilated rib, and interchangeable adapter plates are included to accommodate most popular shotgun rib sizes.

The Micro S-1 greatly enhances hit percentage for hunters, as well as on the sporting clays course. It provides a compact, low-profile optic for shotgun hunters. The big, bright 6 MOA red dot provides an optimal combination of target acquisition speed and visibility.

So waited till I had put the sight through a good hunt prior to submitting a review. Installation was easy with the supplied instructions, so was sighting in at 25yds. I am right eye dominent and left handed and can't seem to ever shoot a shotgun successfully, well I'm in a different league now. I used the sight on a veterans pheasant hunt, we shot skeet first and I came 3rd out of about 45 shooters. Once in the field I was still able to keep up my new found prowess. Expensive yes, but well worth the money in my opinion. Simon

Very disappointed in The Aimpoint S-1. The Aimpoint, battery & tools were all loose in the box. I heard them rattling around before I opened the shipping box. Makes me wonder if it was a return or factory refurbished/second. It has only mounting 2 positions to adjust for left/right. If it doesn't clamp on centered in one of these positions you are out of luck. The mounting systems appears poor. Fragile is what I would call it. Only a 1/2" wide, 1/8" thick piece of plastic is all that anchors it to the rib. I worry about it breaking/falling off or coming loose just putting it in and out of a case. I can't imagine what would happen while walking through the brush hunting. The idea of a rib mounted red dot is great. But Aimpoint missed the mark on design/function with the S-1.
