Description

Optimized toward fast target acquisition and short- to mid-range shooting, the Nightforce NX8 F1 features a 1-8x magnification range, a 24mm objective lens, and a first focal plane reticle. The compact profile of the NX8 (only 8.75" long and 17 ounces) allows Nightforce to implement their signature superior optics in a small package that doesn't add a large signature or weight commitment.

Like all of the optics made by Nightforce, the NX8 1-8x24mm Riflescopes offers the same legendary bomb-proof ruggedness. Each scope features a one-piece tube precision machined from a solid bar stock of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. The tube is two to three times thicker than riflescopes of a lesser quality, resulting in less overall stress, greater thermal stability, a consistent zero and a virtually impervious shield for the precision optics within. The lenses are matched and aligned by hand in a process called optical indexing to ensure the highest possible optical performance. The objective lens utilizes a multi-element design like those found in the highest quality telescopes to focus light rays more precisely for exceptional image clarity and color accuracy. Optical performance is further enhanced thanks to multi-coated ED glass that results in superb light transmission, brilliant images, and exceptional color contrast. The internal mechanisms on the windage and elevation turrets are held in place by a specially designed spring that spends two weeks in a polishing tumbler before being installed in the optic to deliver perfectly smooth operation. This guarantees zero loss of integrity, zero loss of repeatability.

There are two current options available for the Nightforce NX8:

Nightforce NX8 Features

  • Daylight-visible center red dot promotes fast target acquisition, with "Off" settings in between each brightness setting
  • Intelligent FC-Mil and FC-MOA first focal plane reticles provide precise hold points via subtensions
  • ZeroStop elevation turret allows for quick, precise elevation adjustments via dialing, with rapid and positive return to zero
  • .2 Mil-Radian OR .5 MOA elevation increments (depending on model)
  • Integrated Power Throw Lever (PTL)
  • 30mm Body Tube with rugged construction balanced with light weight
  • Capped windage adjustment

This is an excellent optic. It is incredibly light. The illumination is very bright. I can easily see it on even the most sunny Arizona days. The new reticle is considerable improvement. It produces a very usable red dot at 1x, but a fine reticle at 8x that does not occlude the target. I did lots of research before I bought this optic. The comments about the eye box are valid. However, there are trade-offs when one makes such a light 1-8 ffp LPVO. I put this on a Geissele Superduty AR with a 14.5" barrel. I wanted a tough, light, LPVO. This optic met my needs, for the money, better than any other. The "demo" that I bought was in pristine condition.

So far so good! The NX8 1-8 w/the newer DMx reticle is really nice. I don't have a ton of time behind the glass yet, but first impressions are favorable. Clean glass, Sunshine bright lumination, Perfectly done tension on the power throw lever and I love the FDE coloring. Eye relief is decent for me... no LPVO has the ease eye box like a red dot, but the NX8 allows for easy target identification and being able to help my older eyes see downrange. This was a Demo/Used optic but I can't see any marks or blems anywhere. Shipping was great and dealing w/ EuroOptic has been a breeze. I'll definitely buy my next optic here as well.

Forgiving eyebox, crisp glass, and a great reticle.

Love the Nightforce NX8 1-8! There is a lot of offering in this short, light weight scope. The reticle is intuitive, and the red dot is daytime bright. The glass is crystal clear. Full disclosure: I watched the Sage Dynamics review on YouTube before purchasing. Aaron's review is positive and spot on. The scope was sold as "like new" and was missing the battery and the box seals were cut. Other than that, the scope appears brand new. Very happy with the scope and mounted in a scalarworks leap mount.

The NF NX8 1-8 is the only lpvo that I have kept around because of its quality and compact size. The eyebox gets tight as you ascend in magnification but it is easily manageable. The older reticle was great for fast target acquisition at lower magnification but the new DMX reticle excels at both lower and higher magnification due to its smaller center aiming dots. This is hands down my favorite carbine optic and the buying experience from EuroOptic was incredible as well.

This is the second nx8 that I have owned the first was a swing and a miss the eye box was trash with fisheye, the exposed elevation turret and terrible reticle out weighed the red dot like illumination. Fast forward a couple years and I see this video titled let’s not hate on the nx8, I decided to try the nx8 rodeo again and wow what an improvement it is. The new fc-DMX reticle is so much better, on 1x the fisheye is very minimal (you really have to look for it)and the annoying uncapped elevation turret is gone. If you are looking for a scope that can do red dot stuff but is also good at distance and is light and compact buy this scope.

OK. The good? Compact package, daylight visible dot, nice feeling turret adjustment clicks, not horrible feeling power adjustment ring. Aaaand... Yeah, that's it. If I had no choice and it was this or iron sights? Hmmm, probably this, but I'd really have to think on intended use and weapon platform. Terrible, picky eyebox, blurry edges and pincushioned view. Try to get on it quickly even at 1X? Not happening. Very narrow rield of view. The only reason you would ever possibly be satisfied is if you'd never seen another LPVO. Did I possibly get a bad example? Could be, but I wasn't sending it back for another try. Fool me once... The Kahles K18i that replaced it? Spectacular! Everyone who looks through it says, "Wow!" It's like throwing up an Eotech or other 1X fixed red dot. Very forgiving, crispy edge to edge, like looking through air. Forgiving in the middle and top end too. SFP, but who dials an LPVO? Not many. It's not a high-mag precision scope, after all. EuroOptics is easy to deal with. Easy return, squared away company.
