Description

Nightforce's latest entry into the extreme long range riflescope market is the Advanced Tactical Riflescope (ATACR) in the line's highest magnification range - 7-35x56. This extensive magnification range is paired with a first focal plane configuration, and a selection of available reticles to provide what can be considered one of the finest options for long-range tactical applications, precision rifle competition (PRS competitors are already anticipating this), or long-range hunting.

Like all of the optics in the ATACR family, the 7-35x56mm variation features a one-piece tube precision machined from a solid bar stock of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. The tube is two to three times thicker than riflescopes of a lesser quality, resulting in less overall stress, greater thermal stability, a consistent zero and a virtually impervious shield for the precision optics within. The lenses are matched and aligned by hand in a process called optical indexing to ensure the highest possible optical performance. The objective lens utilizes a multi-element design like those found in the highest quality telescopes to focus light rays more precisely for exceptional image clarity and color accuracy. Optical performance is further enhanced thanks to multi-coated ED glass that results in superb light transmission, brilliant images, and exceptional color contrast. The elevation turret on ATACR Riflescopes are equipped with Nightforce’s ZeroStop Technology to provide an instant return to zero after making adjustments in the field. After sighting in your rifle, simply set the ZeroStop to create a positive mechanical stopping point at your chosen zero point. Then, no matter how many elevation adjustments you make, turning the elevation knob down to the ZeroStop setting returns you to your original zero, completely by feel—even in total darkness or while wearing gloves. The internal mechanisms on the windage and elevation turrets are held in place by a specially designed spring that spends two weeks in a polishing tumbler before being installed in the optic to deliver perfectly smooth operation. This guarantees zero loss of integrity, zero loss of repeatability.

Nightforce is already known for ruggedness and reliability in their riflescope lines, and the ATACR 7-35x56 is no exception; building from his foundation, the scope has many features, including:

  • Legendary optical performance via an ED glass package
  • First Focal Plane configuration
  • Side-focus parallax control from 10 meters to infinity
  • 100 MOA/27 Milradian of elevation travel
  • 60 MOA/16 Milradian of windage travel
  • Included Power Throw Lever (PTL) and Flip-Caps
  • ZeroStop turret back-to-zero functionality

Watch Richard Utting's review of this scope.... Mark and Sam after work also use this optic. The glass is exceptional. The reticle is amazing. I was worried the reticle would be too thick at full mag.... it is not. Illumination is excellent.... red and green to choose from. The floating center dot is a MUST IMHO. I own Steiner T5xi and that has amazing glass.... this NF tops it. You have to look through it to experience it. I have looked across mountain ranges with it... and it is just amazing. It does not feel heavy IMHO. The sunshade on my T5xi is heavier. I wanted at least one world class optic in my collection. This is it. Just WOW !! You could go for less expensive optics... but why not treat yourself to at least one magnificent optic ? This can be used as a spotting scope or you could even put it on a .22lr due to its low parallax. Can't recommend it enough if you have the money.

I have not tried it yet, but for this price (3000 USD), it is a killing bargain! It may have been a demo one, but it looks just like new.

I've hit a soda can at 1,380 yards using this optic/reticle combo. Can't say enough good things about it.

This is my 3rd 7x35 ATACR and the best reticle yet. I use this scope for fast pace practical shooting and need the hold over capability when I don’t have time to dial. Fantastic scope and service by EuroOptics!

This happens to be the second such scope I purchased as a demo from Europtic.com. Both showed no evidence of having been removed from the box, let alone a demo. Great way to purchase high end optics! The glass is clear edge to edge with no aberration. I love the reticle for centerfire and rim fire competition, especially on stages where time or restrictions limit you to holdovers. The turret adjustment clicks are positively defined, tracking spot on. The parallax adjustment range, as well as high end magnification, make this an awesome choice for NRL22 platforms. I rarely exceed 20x for centerfire engagements, but having that extra boost to 35x really pays off on a KYL rack, or when shooting for groups on paper.

Had a few handling spots, but they weren't in the finish. They cleaned right off. Glass is perfect, and once I wiped the body of the scope down, it looks brand new. The packaging was all sealed too. The sunshade was loose in its little section but it's fine too once wiped off. Definitely worth the savings for the Demo version. Any little bit of savings helps on an investment like this. Saved enough to buy an Era-Tac mount. I'll take that deal any day. Thanks!!!

The Nightforce ATACR scopes are astoundingly good. I especially like the Mil-XT reticle. It gives you just the right amount of information for doing holdovers without dialing. Eurooptic is my go to source for high end shooting equipment and supplies.

Arrived in pristine condition. Surprised how large it is. Set it in an ADM QD uni-mount on my Nemo Omen, handles Win Mag recoil flawlessly. Glass is phenomenal, adjustments are tight and precise, reticle is great, illumination is both red or green. Comes with lens caps, sun shade, throw lever, , NF tool, and windage thingy. $515 is great savings. Still pretty pricey, but I cannot find a flaw or imperfection functionally. Zeroed in 16 shots to 100 yds, cannot wait to push it to 1km.
