It features high density glass for the clearest possible images, XR plus multi-coated lenses for optimal light transmission, Armortek for scratch, oil and dirt resistance, focus ring that surrounds the outer body of the scope, rubber armored body for extreme durability, and a built in sun shade that pulls out to reduce glare. I wanted a small straight spotter with good glass that I could shove in a side pocket of a MR 3 day pack, opposite a carbon fiber tripod. This meets those requirements, I like the ergonomics, size and price. The glass is good for the money as is the case for most Vortex products. Just don't look through a Tangent Theta 5-25 and then go to this spotter because resolution is not even close but is 4x cheaper.
