The Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85 angled spotting scope is the premier spotting scope offered by Vortex. It features high density glass for the clearest possible images, XR plus multi-coated lenses for optimal light transmission, Armortek for scratch, oil and dirt resistance, focus ring that surrounds the outer body of the scope, rubber armored body for extreme durability, and a built in sun shade that pulls out to reduce glare. Eurooptic is great to deal with. Greta price and fast shipping. The razor is a very high quality scope. Very sharp and bright image. I use this for seeing mirage during competitions. This scope is excellent for seeing multiple mirages to read wind.

I bought this after reading many reviews and videos. I wanted to compare this model RS-85A to the previous version the RZR-A1. The previous version in my opinion is much better. The dual focus is faster and easier to use. Especially when it is cold out. the new version is is much harder to focus and you need to use your thumb and forefinger to turn the barrel focus. For the $$ buy the old version if you can find one. On another note my $175.00 Vortex Diamondback HD 10 X42 binoculars show the colors much more vibrant then the spotting scope which is 10 times the cost. I am still a Vortex fan with other products.

Eurooptic was great, good price and fast shipping. Optical quality on this vortex razor spotting scope is not great. In comparison I would rather look through my Leupold 18 power HD rifle scope (42mm objective) than this spotting scope. Even backing off the zoom to 40 power ( the sweet spot for this optic) was no where near the brightness and clarity of my Leupold rifle scope. I have 10 power Vortex Binos that have better optical quality. I love vortex optics but this one is not a good choice.

I bought this stuff under the impression to get a very good glass at a reasonable price. All I can say, I am disappointed by the optical quality which is far behind the Kowa 883 or Meopta S2 I have tested.
