Description

New for 2020, the feature-rich S20 Hunter is the next generation of Sako hunting rifle. By its nature, the Sako S20 is a modular rifle that is designed to allow the shooter to change its stock configuration to meet their needs. The S20 Hunter features an ergonomic thumbhole stock that is packed with features any hunter will appreciate. Using spacers on the buttpad, the S20 Hunter allows the shooter adjust their length of pull and the numbered quick-adjust cheekpiece ensures the hunter will always have their ideal sight picture when shouldering their rifle. The S20 Hunter also features a specially designed five round Cartridge Plus magazine (three for magnum calibers), that provides extra length for reloaders. Additionally, the S20 Hunter features quick-detach points for mounting sling hardware on both sides of the stock and soft-touch inserts on the forend and pistol grip.

The Sako S20's stainless steel action is brand new and features a 3-lug, push feed bolt with plunger ejection to maximized reliability. The Cerakoted receiver of the S20 features a machined Picatinny rail that allows for the easy mounting of riflescopes. The trigger of the S20 is adjustable for pull weight and for position within the trigger guard (± 7mm) to ensure an absolute perfect length of pull for the shooter. The barrel of the S20 is made from stainless steel and fluted to reduce weight and barrel cool down time. The muzzle of the rifle is 5/8x24 threaded, allowing for the addition of muzzle devices like suppressors or brakes.

Eurooptic is my new favorite vendor for firearms and optics, very happy that I found them. Every-day pricing is fair, promotions are attractive, and the sales staff is extremely knowledgeable and follows through with their commitments. I'll be a long-term customer. The Sako S20 caught my eye from the promotional videos when they launched in early 2020. Covid delayed domestic delivery, but it was worth the wait. I bought the Hunter model, chambered in 6.5CM, shooting Hornady 143gr ELD-X. I mounted a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44mm CDS-ZL2 FireDot Duplex Scope on Seekins medium rings. Very easy to mount with the integral pic rail. First group was 1", two following groups were 5/8". This rifle is a tack-driver and it seems to like the 143gr ELD-X. In all of my groups so far, 2/3 shots touch. I saw the videos of the clip rattling around. It does fit loosely, but unless I intentionally rattle it, I haven't had an issue with it making noise. The balance of the rifle feels incredible. Action is smooth as silk. Very happy with the gun.

Just purchased another Sako S20, this time in 6.5 Creed. Already have thoroughly enjoyed the 7mm Rem. version I've had since they were 1st released in 2020; one of the most accurate out of the box rifles I've ever set-up. This new addition to the family will be outfitted exactly the same way - Zeiss 3-15x50 on Warne Mountain Tech rings, complimented by a Warne Skyline bipod mounted via Warne sling stud Picantinny adaptor. I think these new S20 rifles are seriously undervalued and/or have been generally ignored by the American shooting public. An outstandingly accurate hunting set-up, and can easily pull double duty as a starting rig for PRS, (with either converting to the Precision stock set, or not), or just playing around splashing steel w/friends and family for fun. The tungsten cerakote is flawless and impervious to whatever you might carelessly throw at it; the ergonomics of these rifles, especially w/the Hunter stock in place is, for me, the epitome of a modern hunting rig. Perhaps the only demerit on the S20s is the "plasticky" feeling of the stock material, and it will scratch. I think I might yet buy another one, and set-up w/an Aimpoint for closer range, fast pointing work on hogs! For my money, these rifles ooze Sako quality and craftsmanship, at an incredible value. The purchasing experience from Eurooptic for both the rifle and all the accessories was phenomenal, as always! Great Website - ease of use and navigation/checkout, transfer to local FFL was seamless, shipping updates all throughout the process(es), and everything arrived on time and as promised. Eurooptic has become one of my favorite, most trusted outdoor retailers. Excellent experience!

My friend bought this rifle in the 6.5 Creedmoor, and luckily traded it to me for a Seekins that I had. Awesome trade! This rifle doesn't care who shoots it....it's on! Topped with a Nightforce, I dial it in and money everytime. You cannot go wrong with a Sako! Buy one and don't look back....

I’ve had an S20 for a couple years but really didn’t take it serious but the gun shot beautifully. Two months ago I hung a Trijicon Tenmile 5-50x56 to see what we could do with the guns potential. I haven’t fine tuned it yet with hand loads as that is the next step. This past weekend I was shooting some Hornady Match 140ELD and had three shot groups at 100 & 200 in the 0.5-0.75” range. Just for some kicks, I was hitting a one inch gong at 300 hundred about 50% of the time. The combination of the S20, the Trijicon scope and the Hornady ammo make up an awesome package at an incredible price. Through Eurooptics the rifle and scope for a bit over $3k, there’s no better value for entry level long range shooting available!!! Btw….800 yd five shot groups were 2.5-3” today. I’m smiling!!!

Shot the S20 in 6.5 Creedmoor for the first time. I put on a viper 4-16x50, pst FFP with Nightforce rings. Not bad. Shot Nosler Custom comp and Fed non-typ, both 140 grains. Got 1 MOA. Hand loaded five different loads that my other 6.5 Creedmoor rifles shoot well. The best was with the Berger's, 0.5 MOA. Shot my Savage 110 with the new Magpul stock at the same time. It has a bull barrel that shoots the Bergers well and got 0.5 MOA as well. My hunting buddy also purchased a S20 in .308 and he is also getting .5 MOA. The rifle seems to be an overall good hunting rifle, light, easy to handle, comfortable. The only thing I don't like about it is the rear sling attach. They only have a couple of slits in the stock, I know, pretty chicks__it. But, we'll see this deer season. Hopefully, it'll work as well in the field as it does on the range.

I have 2 Other Sako rifles both L61R 30-06 that I just love. I wanted a Sako in 6.5 CM because the cartridge is so easy to work up loads for. This S20 is an amazing rifle for the money, bolt runs smooth, feeds well from magazine, trigger adjusted down to 2 lbs pull and breaks so clean it feels like only 1.5 or less. I mounted a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x50 scope with 30 mm tube using Burris Signature Zee Rings X-High, 30mm, Weaver Style, Matte Black - 420585 they gave me a good 1/4" clearance from barrel. I used the set of .010" + and - inserts to gain the same a s a 20 moa rail. Took the rifle to my 105 yard range, bore sighted it by looking through the barrel at bull @ 105. I was using a light load with 143 ELDX that was taylored for a 21.6" barreled TC . First shot 3" low 1.5" right, moved up 3", 2nd shot 1.5" right, moved to left 1.5" hit center of bull. I then shot 4 more rounds for my first 5 shot group @ 105 yards that measured .484" CTC all 5 holes I covered with a dime.
