If you looking for the new apex in high end crossbows this is the model to own. Tenpoint has morphed this model along over the years and eliminated some of the things consumers did not like and added more if what they ask for. The bow hits the real advertised speeds and a bit more regardless of the chronograph used and no lite weight arrows spec to push the speeds up......gee wiz what a concept for others to follow. The Nitro 505 shoulders amazing because it has the correct l.O.P. designed in to the stock and trigger distance. The ability to decock after the hunt is a real bonus too. With correct arrows this bow is as accurate as there is. Be sure of one thing and that is this bow is in a class all of its own when comparing to other offering from competitive manufactures.....I own a few Ravins too and like those as well but this bow shoots so nice and the shot feel is superb do the the beefier design and weight. For the first time in my life and literally thousands of dollar spent on bows, I finally own a bow that I would not change anything on. Tenpoint has truly earned their spot here as the top performer in the industry wit this model.

I purchased my Nitro 505 a few months ago and havent been able to see how it performs throughout a full deer season. That being said, there is only one area of improvement I would like to see- the 2 stage trigger. I assumed it would be pretty- much the same as a 2 stage trigger used in a rifle. That is not the case. There is simply "loose slack" taken up and then the actual trigger pull. The bow appears to be exceptionally well- built, with one of the best traditional crossbow scopes on the market. After a full season of use, I will try to update this review.

The Nitro is a very balanced bow! It provides the stability that is needed to steady a quick shot, and the longevity to secure that ethical positioning that can sometimes take awhile. The Nitro 505 isn’t the lightest bow made but the stability and balance definitely makes up the difference! Did I also mention that the speed of this bow is wickedly smooth and fast! Sold me and my wife (who is a hard sell) period! You have to be able to justify the price of this bow in this hunting family or it doesn’t get bought! So far so good with the Nitro 505!

The bow is lightning quick. Took out a buck in 2022 during archery 50 yards and he fell like a stone. Can't say enough about the new cocking and decocking. It is much safer and better designed than the previous generation. Still love my 1st tenpoint crossbow and it knocked down 10 bucks over the years. But the new bow it h struck and this one is a keeper.

This bow is bad to the bone. Super accurate, fast, quiet and easy to shoot. The Accudraw works great. Have not gotten a deer with it yet. So I can't speak to that. It is a little pricey. That is the only drawback.

This is the third crossbow, I've owned. Definitely top notch quality and I really like how compact the limbs are. Super fast and quiet. This is the first crossbow I've owned with a crank. The crank, is the only way to go. It works so nice. Its amazing that you can stop half way and not worry about the crank free winding. I highly recommend this crossbow.

The TenPoint Nitro 505 is a well designed, balanced crossbow. I bought this crossbow for several reasons. The first is the accuracy of it. The second is the speed, and of course the Acu Slide. This is an all around great product.

It’s easy to sight in and at 109 yards I’m getting quarter sized groups I like the way that you can decock the bow the bow is not that heavy the reverse Dre makes getting in my stand a lot easier and able to maneuver tight spaces with out getting hung up on tree branches

Overall I really love the crossbow. However, after only around 20-25 shots the servings look like they are about toast. Most are already showing signs of severe wear. This should NOT be happening with something that cost over 3K!!! I honestly expected to get well over 150 shots before I even had to think about the strings and servings. Now, I am nervous everytime i sit in the stand with it cocked.

I borrowed my friends nitro 505 for a weekend as I own the older ten point shadow ultra lite “which has been flawless”. But I’m thinking about giving the shadow to my son and buying the nitro for next season. This would make my son happy and I’ll be doing backflips to the tree stand lol.

I started last year (2022)with a Tenpoint RS470 and loved it. I was able to take 3 deer with it. I had no reason to ever shoot any other crossbow. Then my wife asked if she could learn how to shoot it and that she might want to try to bow hunt with me next year. So she started practicing and she began having so much fun that we decided to purchase another bow. I tried purchasing another RS470 but everyone was out of stock. So I decided to go with the Nitro 505 knowing that it was built from the RS470. Didn’t thank you could improve a bow that in my opinion was the best I’d ever shot. But Tenpoint has made me a believer that they are always striving to better their products. The Nitro 505 is everything I hoped it would be. I can’t wait for the 2023 bow season to start a new adventure with my wife. Thanks Tenpoint!!!!

I bought the bow after my buddy showed me his 505 and after I shot half dozen arrows. From drawing the bow with the AccuSlide to shooting the bow! Easy to shoot with the low poundage trigger and very accurate. I decided to make the 505 my next bow. Also you can feel the quality and solid response of the bow when shooting. The bow is priced as a top of the line and meets the expectations!!!

"""I purchased the 505 shortly before Christmas 2022. I noticed the scope rail was not as stiff as I would have liked. The 2023 Nitro's addressed this problem by adding the scope struts. I will have to live with what I have, since the struts are said to be non-retrofittable. I think an add on scope rail stiffening kit would sell. Sighted in the Marksman's scope which is decent quality. The red / green lighted reticle is on an infinitely adjustable rheostat, not a 5 level brightness scope with detents. The scope with rings is rather heavy, and in that 1.5 lb. range. Sight in went well, other than I started to hear a snapping sound from the acuslide crank system after a dozen shots. Unfortunately, crank force started to increase, almost to the point of binding. Tenpoint asked that I send in the bow for inspection and possible repair. Turn around time was 2 weeks. The tech mentioned the crank system was replaced. Being so new and having issues shakes my confidence for reliability. However, Tenpoint made good on offering to repair my bow and paid for all shipping costs. I'm waiting to receive my crossbow and test it more. I was surprised by the trigger pull force which is said to be 3.5 lbs. or less. It felt in excess of 4 lbs. plus, but I never put a force gauge to it (again being very new with limited shooting time). The repair tech looked at it and said it tested at 2 lbs. I hope that's correct, and I'll be very satisfied if true. The bow did not fire the first time I pulled the trigger when new. I verified the safety was not engaged and arrow properly nocked. All was correct. The trigger then required significant pull force to discharge the bow. A bit too heavy for me, which created doubt regarding the bow's accuracy potential. I do like the two stage trigger and had no issues getting used to the light take-up force before hitting a solid wall and start of sear engagement. the Evo-X arrows are very top end quality. Unfortunately, they may need more weight up front, or a heavy broadhead for best accuracy. Some say a 150 grain broadhead was best. My bow tested 473 FPS with a 480 grain arrow on my chronograph, which included a 125 grain Sevr broadhead. Preliminary accuracy results were sketchy and more testing is required. Hopefully, I'll gain more confidence for the bow's reliability and accuracy. At this time, the jury is still out."""

Super fast and extremely accurate. Caution when target shooting as you may ruin arrows if you don't aim in a diffent location on the target. I have owned many other crossbows but nothing compares to thisi beauty. Love the decocking capability.

It is not front heavy you pull that back. It’s just like pulling a rifle back in one and two ways the way it feels in the way it shoots. I shot a buck this year and it sounded like somebody hit that deer with a baseball bat the kinetic energy behind those are absolutely incredible, I would suggest this to anybody that is looking for a crossbow. Please look at the new 505. With the Garman scope.

This crossbow is outstanding but the only reason I gave it four stars is because its almost to fast. I stuck a bolt in my target at 100yds and couldn't get the bolt out of the target. I am shooting at a 130$ block I purchased and now I have to spend another 180$ to get a new target just so I can stop losing bolts in my target.

Don't blink or you'll miss the flight to the target! The speed is unreal! Everything about this crossbow is top-of-the-line. The stock is solid and durable, and the finishes are perfect. The cocking system is geared down to make it easier to crank than other bows from competitors. I use the alpha blaze EVO-X arrows so I can easily follow the arrow as it sets the air on fire with the blazing speed!

This is the 2nd Tenpoint crossbow I've owned. First one was Turbo XLT and now the Nitro 505. There is no comparison between the 2. The Nitro 505 is fast at 505fpm and very easy to adjust for different yardages. Got it late in season so haven't killed anything with it yet.

My cocking mechanism failed after using it maybe 15 times. Good thing I had a back up for bow season. Doesn't come with a case? Over 3k and no case. Sorry this bow is NOT worth the money at all. Yes it's nice, but not over 3k nice by any means!!

This is my third TenPoint which I purchased in 2022. Very happy with the speed and performance of the bow. Not happy that I spent over $3,000 on bow and can not retrofit new scope support brackets. Obviously there have been issues with original scope mount. Also, scope magnification much too high for archery hunting. Both issues resolved on 2023 Nitro.

All around I am very Happy with My Nitro505. Takes some arrow testing and alot of shooting to be confidant in hitting your mark especially longer distances. Just a few things I think think could be better. The accuracy groupings are very inconsistent. Each individual arrow shoots totally different patterns. Also, during the season I had to resight scope back in 3 different times. Hopefully the new scope struts have improved things in that area, unfortunately us poor souls who already purchased a first 505 model can't use struts. Lastly, I lost my original crank handle and dropped another, only I retraced my steps and found it. The way the crank handle is stored is not dependable. Oh and I purchased a tenpoint sling that tore after 2 weeks, needs something more robust to hold the weight.

The Nitro 505 is not an accurate crossbow. I've been working with mine for almost a year trying to get it to shoot accurately -- been into the service center (a joke) and factory. The bow still will not hold a group --- I wouldn't want to shoot at a deer over 30 yards with this thing. I do like how the Ten Point has "updated" the scope mount system but it is not available on older models -- nice. Tells me there was a problem that needed fixe.

Had a scope issue on brand new Nitro 505 and took to a TenPoint shop. When the shop was trying to figure out the scope issue, it blew up. It was sent back to TenPoint and they replaced the front end only. Shot it a few times when it finally came back and had the same original scope issues. The scope was replaced by TenPoint. Missed using it for the entire archery season. I was hoping the crossbow was going to be worth the cost, but nothing but problems.

My brother and I bought our 505’s at the same time and from the start we had nothing but issues, issues with the scopes, issues with the brush that holds the bolt in place coming loose, my brother and I both had to tighten up bolts that were starting to come loose on these bows. Shots are inconsistent on target, I totally feel like I wasted $3000 buying this bow. I’ve always shot 10 points and I’ve never had issues with them in the past but my brother and I both have had nothing but issues with our 505’s. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
