Now don’t get me wrong, Trijicon makes a great optic, but somewhere they seemingly skipped the QC portion of the hardware used in their mounting plates. I purchased two of these for my Micro 9 pistols understanding that, as with anything 1911, you’re going to need to do some fitting. Removing the rear sight was no issue at all, however I noticed the plate just slipped right on. Very loose. The big issue was the included hardware - when installing using the included mounting screws and torquing within spec, the screws stripped almost immediately. I decided to try the second plate, and while it wasn’t as loose as the first, the screws stripped almost immediately. When looking at other reviews on different sites and forums, including on the Trijicon website, the included hardware seems to be the main complaint. It’s a shame that the main failure on a ~$100 mounting plate for a ~$500 RMR was a $0.01 fastener.
