Description

By the outbreak of American Civil War, Colt had refined their earlier revolver designs into a sleek, streamlined handgun: the 1861 Navy. This handsome six-shooter had an improved loading lever to facilitate easier loading of the cylinder, and was chambered in a smaller .36 Caliber projectile giving it considerably less recoil than its larger predecessors chambered in .44 Caliber. The 1861 Navy's gained a reputation for accuracy, and featured blade-style front sight instead of a metal bead. These handguns were used by soldiers on both sides during the Civil War, especially cavalry units and other horseback mounted troops. Uberti's 1861 Navy Revolver is an authentic reproduction of the original down to the last detail, including a case hardened frame, blade-style front sight, and an engraved cylinder.

Got this pistol to go with my plans man out fit. I do 1850 to 1890. Some will say they were not used after 1873. They need to bend over spread their cheeks apart and some one kick them between their shoulders and knock their heads out, and they will see reality. My 2 cents. I hunt with a 50 cal. plainsman rifle. If I get my elk or deer fine if not I didn't hunt hard anuff. Don't shoot till sure it's a kill shot. May the GREAT SPIRIT Ride with ALL. SEMPER FIDELIS, GUNG-HO
